May 15 Meeting

You were missed!  It was a small gathering with lots of fun.  The slate of nominations was re-worked  and a few  positions are still open.  More about that next post.

We had Show and Tell and several President’s Challenge Charm Pack Quilts.  MaryLou won the drawing for the gift certificate for the Challenge.  Her’s is the white background quilt.

Fabulous desserts and FQ’s were exchanged – that went so fast no photos made it into this posting!

Next meeting June 19.  Watch for emails – a quorum is needed for voting in the new officers.  If you can’t attend in June, be sure to send your proxy vote by email.  IMG_3996 IMG_3997 IMG_3999 IMG_4003 IMG_4004 IMG_4005 IMG_4006 IMG_4007 IMG_4009 IMG_3951 IMG_3970

Charm Pack Quilts and Dessert – Be There!

The President’s Challenge charm quilts are to be unveiled!!       product_4533_riley-blake-cp-cottondots-small-1380334495969        Can’t wait to see the talent showcase!   AND we will also have our annual Dessert Social.         images              Please remember to bring any dessert item in a single serving size .  Creatively wrap it  (in a protective container) in a fat quarter of fabric.  Members (and guests who bring a dessert) will be given a number when they arrive with their dessert.  That number will determine when you are allowed to go to the dessert table to select your dessert.  We will use the “white elephant” drawing method to determine who gets to keep the dessert for good.  Desserts will stay with the third person in possession of the dessert (No tasting before it gets to that third person!!)   The fat quarter can be any fabric of your choosing.
Also Ken asks that you bring any red sashes you’ve completed to the next meeting (May 15th) or to call him  so you can make arrangements for him to get them from you.  Phone # was included in email to membership.
Membership renewals are due to Juanita at the next meeting.
We will also be announcing the nominations for the slate of officers for the upcoming year.  Please check our Facebook page or your member email for a listing.
WOW a busy meeting!   Your input – much less your dessert, is NEEDED.  See you there!

Heidi Pridemore Trunk Show and Shopping!

At the March 20 meeting our program presenter was Heidi Pridemore of The Whimsical Workshop   www.thewhimsicalworkshop.com.  Heidi – with a degree in Industrial Design, became involved in the world of Quilting – and now is a leading pattern and fabric designer.  Many of our favorite fabric lines have hired Heidi to create FREE patterns for their seasonal offerings (check their websites)  also McCalls Quick Quilts magazines – she can have 30 projects going at once!  Her Chandler based business has become a true family business with her husband and his parents involved – her mother in law bought a long-arm just to quilt all the amazing quilts Heidi produces!  After her trunk show, members had the opportunity to purchase patterns and kits!  Here are some of the quilts she  brought – the second one featured in the more subdued colors became the featured quilt for the new Downton Abbey line!  Heidi also graciously donated a binding tool and a color value tool – both her own creations – to PP for our sew-ins.
